Zero Waste Tulsa is an information and idea hub for Tulsans interested in decreasing their waste footprint. Here you’ll find lifestyle tips for reducing waste when you’re out and about, at home, or at your workplace. This website also features local businesses, products, current events, green building, and issues surrounding energy and natural resources. “Waste” is not limited to trash. There is potential for waste in everything we do, from money to resources to time. This website is all-encompassing when it comes to the topic of zero waste. The goal is to make it easier and more convenient for Tulsans to locate the resources they need to be less wasteful.
You don’t have to be a “zero waster” to follow this site or implement at least some zero waste principles in your life. We are all busy, and our social infrastructure isn’t yet optimized to make a zero waste lifestyle automatic and convenient (but it’s getting closer!). It takes lots of planning and organizing to get to zero waste, or to just lessen the waste in your life. So, click around, pick some areas of focus you think you can tackle, and do your best. Here’s to a simpler way of life.
About the creator:
My name is Madison Miller. I strive to implement zero waste principles in my life, but I’m not an absolute zero waster yet. Quite honestly, I have a long way to go. I forget to bring my to-go containers when I’m getting a juice or take out. I drive a lot. I’m not totally free from packaged foods at the grocery store. …I DEFINITELY use toilet paper. I wanted Zero Waste Tulsa to exist, so I created it. Through ZWT, I intend to improve my own zero waste efforts and inspire others to do the same. It would be disingenuous to let readers of this site think I already have my zero waste game pat, so I need you to know that I’m a work in progress. But, I hope this helps you see that it’s not all or nothing, and it’s not an overnight change. Even the smallest things we do make a difference, for us individually and the world.
